TINSEL KOREY is a Canadian actress/singer-songwriter who is best known for playing the beautifully scarred character “Emily” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.  In between projects while also working as an actress, Tinsel released her debut EP, Seize The Day on August 30, 2012.

Although many are not familiar with her as a songwriter, Tinsel has been developing her musical talents from a very young age. The release of this EP is the result of several years of work and collaboration. Recorded at the famous WAX studios in Los Angeles, the Folk Rock album will consist of five news songs, in addition to Tinsel’s previously released debut single, “Letter.” It is available on iTunes and, as well as most major online outlets.

Korey’s career started performing skits as a young child and that passion for her craft led her to pursue her dreams as a professional actress, while maintaining her passion for music. As a teen, she appeared in many commercials, and in 2003, she landed her first television role, on the FOX series “Tru Calling” starring Eliza Dushku. In 2004, while shooting Spielberg's TNT mini-series “Into the West,” she composed a song of the same title that became an underground hit. The song eventually caught the attention of actor/producer Jennifer Podemski who invited Korey to perform it on the 2008 Aboriginal Achievement Awards. That year, she traveled throughout the southwest performing in various venues. Korey’s independent film “Mothers & Daughters,” directed by Carl Bessai (who she had also worked with on “Unnatural & Accidental” in 2006) was included in the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival. Tinsel’s films range from “The Lookout” starring Jeff Daniels and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, “Hybrid,” to “The Quality of Life.” Her most recent works have been the science fiction feature “Avarice,” and the feature “Fishing Naked.” Her television credits include shows such as “Da Vinci's Inquest,” “Godivas,” “Intelligence,” “The Guard,” “Sanctuary” and “Rabbit Fall.”

In her free time, Korey travels all throughout North America teaching acting and music to Native American youth who have interest in the entertainment industry. Her course focuses on an art aspect, helping them bring out their own unique talents.
